Description
TF - Addon is an installer for several plugins for Project X to access files on Topfield harddisks. The hardisk can be accessed if it is mounted to your PC (directly or via USB2) or through a USB connection to your Topfield receiver. To achieve this functionality, TF - Addon combines two plugins published by ChrisG and by me.
Installation
Before you install TF-Addon make sure there is no rawread.dll on your hardisk from an old installation. The best way is to search for the entry "rawread.dll" over all lokal harddisks and manually remove each occurance of this file. Win95/98/ME users should also search and delete the files "rawio16.dll" and "rawio32.dll".

Unzip the setup files from the ZIP - file to a directory of your choice. Start the setup file (setup.exe) and follow the instructions. It will install the plugins to a directory you specified and set all appropriate configuration entries.
The setup program will also ask you to install the "tfdll.dll" version 1.0.0.5 comming with Altair 1.2.5.0. If you already have installed Altair and it's program path is available to the whole system (thus the program path of Altair is in the enviroment path or the existing tfdll.dll resides in the system directories), it's better not install the tfdll.dll. Keep in mind that with a new version of Altair the tfdll.dll should also be replaced to it's new version.

Win95/98/ME users should restart the computer when setup has finished. For Win NT/2000/XP users this step is not necessary.
Usage

Before you start Project X you should configure TF - Addon. This can be done over the "TF-Addon 1.03 Administration" icon added to your program group (usually: TF-Addon for Project X ). Start the administration program and you can decide between following options:
  • Autodetect Topfield disk (default):
In this mode the TF - Addon will first try to detect a Topfield receiver connected to your PC. If the receiver is not available via USB it will try to detect a Topfield harddisk connected (mounted) to your PC (either directly or via USB2). If both (receiver / disk) are not found, Project X will raise a status error message "No Topfield disk found".
  • Topfield disk is mounted to this PC:
If this option is checked, TF - Addon will strictly try to detect the Topfield disk mounted to your PC. It will not try to detect a Topfield receiver via USB. With this configuration Project X makes usage of the plugin written by ChrisG.
  • Topfield receiver is connected via USB:
Checking this option will try to detect a Topfield receiver connected to your PC via USB. It will not try to detect the Topfield harddisk mounted to your local PC. It will make usage of the Project X USB plugin written by Aldarin.
  • USB - Options:
If the file access takes place over a USB receiver connection you can control the USB - transfer mode. Check this option if you want to make usage of the USB - Turbo Mode.
You need to restart Project X if you change the options at runtime.

Once conigured you can add the files from the Topfield disk via the AL - button to Project X. Preview and in/out cuts also work, but hex view isn't currently supported.
Tips and Tricks
You can only connected via USB to your Topfield receiver if any program which makes use of the tfdll.dll (e.g. Altair, TFtp4T, TF - Rename..) is closed.

Project X Ver. 0.81.9 users can set the FileName entry in the tfaddon.ini:

FileName=0

In this case Project X will show the full path name of the file.
If you use Project X 0.82.0 you should not set this option. This version of Project X doesn't support path names.
