Help for Topfield TAPs and Software

home

TAPs (Topfield application programs) are small (or big) Programs that offer useful functions for the digital HDD receivers from Topfield.
These are normally available as .tap files (file extension .tap).
More accurate descriptions are contained in the textfiles which are available here, too.

Attention! This Page refers only to TAPs for most Topfield receivers:
TF5xxx (Satellit, Cable, Terrestrial, Combo)
TF6xxx, (Satellit, Terrestrial)
and TMS (SRM2100)! (extra marked)

On the HDD of the receiver is a folder "Program Files", into which TAPs can be transfered by Altair (Win) or MacTF (Apple) using the USB connection.

Inside this folder can be found a subfolder named "Auto Start". TAPs that are installed here are started automatically when the receiver is switched on.

By pressing the "Exit" key on the RCU most TAPs can be closed, or for some this is for changing their settings.
For other TAPs these settings are configured by a INI file (extension .ini) using your PC.
